Screen Printing Squeegee Grinding and Squeegee Maintenance and Storage
The sides of the squeegee will eventually wear and deform due to frequent contact with the mesh.
Grinding scraping machine can be used to make the sides of squeegee become sharp.
When grinding, follow these rules:
1. use a fine grinding wheel to minimize material loss. Keep the edge clean, free of stains and melting. Use a low wheel speed.
2. when need to wear off a large piece of squeegee quickly, then use coarse grinding wheel is OK. If you only need to glue grinding smooth, use very fine sand paper is no problem.
3. after cutting the squeegee with a knife, polish the edge to ensure it is clean and gap-free.
4. do not grind the squeegee immediately after printing. Wait 24 hours until the ink solvent has fully evaporated.
5. in addition to make sure the squeegee edge straight, make the free height along the entire length of the squeegee direction are consistent.
Squeegee Maintenance & Storage
1. Store flat, not rolled up.
2. Shall be open the whole roll 24 hours make sure the squeegee complete stretch before using
3. Storage without removing the handle, the article blowing up, should be used when the stencil scraping the article can't cont with any object.
4. Store at 20–25°C in a dry environment, away from ink. The squeegee can absorb moisture and solvents.
5. The squeegees with ink or handles should not be stored overnight
6. Do not put the squeegee in the solvent for long time. although the squeegee can be resistant to many kinds of solvents, but long time of soaking will make the squeegee deformation, loss of elasticity.
7. Clean the squeegee immediately after use to prevent ink from drying. Remove all ink residue to avoid print marks.
